Spring Meadows celebrated bringing in 2012 with a New Year’s Eve party. Saturday, December 31st Children from United Nation’s Church entertained the residents by performing musical numbers. Everyone snacked on cheese, crackers, shrimp, and much more and enjoyed sparkling drinks while wearing hats and celebrating with noise makers. It was a fun afternoon to get together, visit with one another, and discuss the New Year.

Throughout December Spring Meadows held many Holiday Celebrations. Family and friends were invited to join their loved ones for entertainment, food, and fun! We had our annual Holiday Bazaar with a visit from Santa Clause. We also celebrated Hanukkah with help from the Schwartz & Berns families.

In November Choice Home School Co-op Singing Group came to Spring Meadows to perform. Everyone really enjoyed seeing the children’s program. Thank you to everyone who made it possible. We hope they can come back again soon.

At the end of September residents were able to go on a hay ride through Erie Orchard. After the ride everyone was treated to cider, doughnuts, and a pumpkin to take home with them. We also picked up extra apples to make and sell apple pies. Making the pies was hard work but they were delicious!

August 18th, many residents and staff from Spring Meadows went to Olander Park with our Therapy group, Therapy Partners, for a cookout. We had delicious hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans, potato salad, and watermelon.

Monday, August 8th Spring Meadows Senior Community was graciously invited to Don and Shannon’s house for a home cooked meal and bingo. Don and Shannon have been volunteering at Spring Meadows for a long time.

Friday, July 15th Spring Meadows went to Maumee Bay State Park to have a picnic, fly kites, and watch the kite festival. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day!

Flag day, June 14th, was a beautiful day. The Legion came out to fold our flag and explain to us the meaning of each fold. Then we kept celebrating with patriotic music by John Pickle. Special thanks to the Legion members and staff members who helped that day!

Spring Meadows Senior Community headed to The Seafood on April 27th for lunch. The food was delicious and the service was great. We all had a wonderful time and can’t wait to go back!

We traveled to Bascom, Ohio and had a delicious lunch at PJ’s Brickhouse. Then we headed to the new Civil War Museum in Tiffin. It was a wonderful outing and we can’t wait to go back!

We celebrated Fat Tuesday two different days here at Spring Meadows. The 1st day we celebrated by having Mardis Gras bingo and crowning our King, Matt Ray, and Queen, Betty Cousino. We also celebrated on Fat Tuesday by eating delicious Paczkis.

Everyone had fun watching the Praise Dancers from the United Church of God. They were so energetic! They even danced with Jean Bookenberger and Jack Schwartz!

Spring Meadows kicked off the holiday season with our annual open house on December 6th. Throughout the day residents and their loved ones were able to watch a Christmas movie, celebrate Hanukkah, and listen to Christmas music performed by Jim Newman.

After our trip to MacQueens Apple Orchard in September we made A LOT of homemade apple pies. Residents worked very hard peeling and slicing the apples. Then they made two types of apple pies. Most of them had a crumble topping, but some had a lattice type crust. It was a lot of work but everyone enjoyed themselves!

The summer of 2010 was filled with many great memories. Residents had so much fun experiencing all the different activities. There were trips to parks which included tram rides, fishing trips and picnics. There were parties and celebrations for birthdays, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Rosh Hashanah. Entertainers such as musicians, magicians, puppets, and more came to the facility.
