Happy Retirement to Roxanne Stone-Warr!
Roxanne first started working at Spring Meadows part time as a receptionist in the early 1990’s. In 1993, she took a full time position as Marketing/Admissions Director at Spring Meadows before advancing to Director of Human Resources in 2007.
Roxanne’s father, Jack Stone, purchased Resthaven Manor in 1975. A decade later, he constructed Spring Meadows Senior Community on the 30-acre Stone family farm in Holland. Astor House Assisted Living complex was added in 1999 and expanded with a second construction phase in 2002.
It was Roxanne’s father who urged her to join the family business after many years of teaching instrumental music and drama in the United States and London. She also spent several years managing the Ohio Theatre.
“My Dad said ‘I don’t know why you don’t come and work here’ and so I did. I have loved it and all the people,” Roxanne said. “I think we have a really nice group of people who genuinely care about the residents. For many of us, we have been friends for many years and care about each other. That is what I will miss the most.”
For Roxanne, retirement means working on projects at home and hopefully spending some quality time travelling with her husband.
“It’s been a privilege and fun. I have met so many great people…both residents and employees. I am very proud of what we do here at Spring Meadows and how we do it. I am going to miss all the people, but I am excited for this new chapter for Spring Meadows,” Roxanne said.
